DELIVERY SERVICE PROVIDERS CD&L, DMS PLAN MERGER
Consolidated Delivery & Logistics Inc. and Dispatch Management
Services Corp. said Monday they are in discussions to merge the two delivery services
companies.
The combined annual revenue of the companies would be $450 million.
"We believe that by combining our two companies, we will be able to take
a necessary first step in assuming a leadership role in the same-day
delivery industry," the companies said in a joint statement.
The merger would also position the companies to better compete in
domestic and international "e-commerce" business.
CD&L, based in Clifton, N.J., provides same-day ground and air delivery
through 82 offices in 24 states and the District of Columbia. DMS Corp., based in New
York, provides on-demand delivery services and point-to-point courier services in 24 U.S.
metropolitan markets, as well as the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.
