DEUTSCHE POST TO BUY GERMAN, SWISS TRANSPORT FIRMS
Deutsche Post has made two more acquisitions in Europe.
The German postal giant plans to acquire 80 percent of a German
logistics provider, ITG Internationale Spedition, a fashion logistics
specialist with $82 million in annual revenue. Deutsche Post said it plans
to develop "considerable synergies" between ITG and Deutsche Post
subsidiaries Danzas, Nedlloyd and Deutsche Post Contrakt Logistiks.
Deutsche Post also has acquired 100 percent of Switzerland-based
Qualipac AG to consolidate its number-two position in the Swiss parcel
market. Qualipac has annual turnover of about $14 million.
