DEUTSCHE POST WINS MAJORITY OF ASG BOARD SEATS
Seven representatives of Danzas and Deutsche Post Group were elected to
fill seats on Swedish forwarder ASG’s board of directors, giving the German postal company
clear control over ASG.
Two board seats were allotted to a wholly-owned subsidiary of Posten Sverige
AB, ending a bitter fight between Sweden’s postal company and Deutsche Post over ownership
of ASG. The Swedish Post had been trying to buy ASG for some time before Deutsche Post
closed a deal with ASG’s key shareholder in May.
Danzas will now begin integrating ASG’s forwarding network, with full
implementation slated to begin in September.
