Deutsche Post DHL Group plans to invest in a 27.5 percent stake in the French e-commerce logistics specialist Relais Colis to provide DHL’s divisions and their customers enhanced access to the French e-commerce market.
A spokesperson for DHL told American Shipper the deal is expected to be finalized by the end of this week.
With the minority stake, DHL will support the further development of Relais Colis’ network of pickup points and its customized delivery solutions for end customers, according to the company.
“This will allow DHL’s divisions, primarily DHL Parcel, to open up additional channels and expand its offering of value-added logistics services for e-commerce customers to the French market,” DHL said.
Relais Colis provides a variety of specialized solutions, including pick up point deliveries and home deliveries for larger packages. The French logistics company has a network of three national hubs, 22 branches and 4,800 pickup points.
