DHL LAUNCHES PERISHABLES SERVICE

DHL LAUNCHES PERISHABLES SERVICE

DHL Airways, the U.S. operating arm of international express carrier DHL
Worldwide Express, has launched a perishables shipping service that uses refrigerant
packets in place of dry ice.
DHL said it will use newly patented, insulated packages to deliver the
"ThermoExpress" service. The refrigerant packets that keep the shipment cold can
be adjusted to meet different temperature requirements depending on the goods shipped.
By replacing dry ice, a classified hazardous material, DHL says
ThermoExpress will reduce paperwork and lower costs for perishables
shippers.
