DHL has introduced a daily cargo flight between the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and the Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
The new flight also includes a stop at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport to connect freight routed between there and Canada.
In addition to enhancing service for Michigan-based importers and exporters, the flight allows DHL to offer earlier delivery times and later pick-up times – by one hour on average – the forwarder said.
Atlas Air Worldwide’s subsidiary Atlas Air, Inc. operates the flight using a Boeing 767-200.
“Our expanded service window and the additional capacity of this aircraft are essential to accommodate the increasing volumes that are being generated by major automotive companies and suppliers as well as other businesses based in the region,” DHL Express SVP and General Manager in the Midwest Karsten Aufgebauer said in a statement. “We are continually enhancing our U.S. network capabilities to ensure consistent, reliable service to our customers in the 220 countries and territories we serve.”
