Dicom buys L.A.-based final-mile transportation provider

Dicom Transportation Group of Canada said the acquisition of Extra Express will expand its final-mile delivery services in the western United States.

   Dicom Transportation Group, a Canadian freight transportation services provider, has added “final mile” and distribution capabilities in the western United States through its acquisition of Los Angeles-based Extra Express.
   Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
   Dicom said it will integrate Extra Express into its existing services, adding that its customers will now have access to final-mile delivery points across California, Colorado and Nevada.
   “Extra Express is an exceptionally well-run business, with a proven ability to service a wide range of industries. We look forward to offering their capabilities, which include state-of-the art tracking and communications technology to both new and existing customers,” Dicom CEO Scott Dobak said in a statement.
