Almost 200 truck drivers at U.K. supermarket chain Sainsbury plan to walk off the job at the Merseyside distribution center for two hours on Friday to protest the company’s changes to its pension plan, the nation’s largest trade union, Unite, said.
The union claims that low-wage workers will see significant cuts to their benefits. Another 1,700 drivers and warehouse staff at five other distribution centers are scheduled to vote soon on whether to withhold services.
