DUPONT SELECTS G-LOG
DuPont Global Logistics has signed a multi-year licensing agreement with G-Log to provide the Internet-based infrastructure for the shipping giant to optimize and manage its global and regional shipments.
Under terms of the agreement, G-Log will collaborate with DuPont Sourcing and Logistics to develop transportation systems solutions for deployment across DuPont business units, subsidiaries, joint ventures and affiliates.
G-Log said its technology will enable DuPont to retire mainframe legacy applications and replace them with Internet-based technology that is less expensive to run and maintain. Logistics information will be accessible globally through an Internet browser, to those granted access, including customers and suppliers.
Jerry Donnelly, director of DuPont Global Logistics, said G-Log's solutions will help DuPont improve logistics efficiency, provide order visibility, deliver superior customer service, decrease freight cost, and create a single centralized logistics data warehouse database for over one million complex multimodal, multileg worldwide shipments per year.
DuPont is the nation's largest exporter of containerized freight, exporting more than 1.5 billion tons a year.
This agreement marks an important milestone for G-Log, said Mitch Weseley, chief executive officer of G-Log. “DuPont is one of the leading shippers in the world, with a truly visionary approach to the role of logistics in their business.”
