EAGLE USA POSTS 39 PERCENT JUMP IN INCOME

   Eagle USA Airfreight Inc., a Texas-based forwarder, reported a
39-percent increase in net income to $5.5 million for its second fiscal
quarter ending March 31.
   Revenue at the forwarder jumped 48 percent to $133.7 million. Shipments
handled grew 35 percent to 324,399.
   Recently opened international forwarding operations, including
businesses in the U.K. and Hong Kong, accounted for 15 percent of Eagle’s
total revenue. International revenue grew 197 percent in the quarter.
