EMIRATES SKYCARGO ADDS B747-400 FREIGHTER
Emirates SkyCargo Wednesday began operating a new Boeing 747-400 freighter, which it has wet leased from Atlas Air.
The 747-400F, which has a capacity of 120 tons, replaces a 747-200F version previously in operation. The plane will operate on the Dubai/Amsterdam and Dubai/Hong Kong routes.
Under its wet lease agreement, Atlas Air provides the aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance.
In addition to the 747-400F, Emirates SkyCargo has committed to acquire two Airbus A380 super jumbo freighters.
