EU AND CHINA MEET FOR WTO ENTRY TALKS
European Union and Chinese negotiators will meet today (Monday) in
Brussels for talks on Chinese accession to the World Trade Organization.
The EU and China will begin two days of bilateral talks on the terms for China’s entry into the trade body.
China’s vice minister for trade and chief WTO negotiator Long Yongtu will lead a team of negotiators from Beijing. They will meet the European Commission’s negotiating team, led by Hans-Friedrich Beseler, EC director-general for trade.
The EU/China talks follow the recent conclusion of a U.S./China agreement on China’s entry into the WTO.
