EUROGATE Intermodal expands network

New, direct rail connections link Germany to eastern and southern Europe.

EUROGATE Intermodal (EGIM) has expanded its rail network and bolstered Munich as a rail hub to and from Europe’s southern ports, the Balkan states and Turkey.
EGIM now offers two weekly connections between Munich and Budapest with block trains to the Budapest-BILK freight station in less than 24 hours without stops, the Port of Hamburg reported.
Two other connections are offered from Budapest to Istanbul (Halkali) in Turkey as an alternative to truck and ferry transport.
A few months ago, EGIM introduced a connection from Budapest to Nyribator in Eastern Hungary, which helped to expand the rail market into Eastern Europe.
EGIM currently operates six direct train lines a week from Germany to Hungary for both import and export.
