EVA AIR SERVES ATLANTA, PLANS IPO

Taiwanese airline EVA Air has started thrice-weekly MD-11 freighter
service from Taipei to Atlanta through Chicago.
The new service adds to U.S. freighter flights EVA operates to
Dallas-Fort Worth, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York.
EVA is using two recently acquired MD-11s. The carrier now operates a fleet
of nine MD-11 all-cargo planes, which can carry up to 80 metric tons of freight.
Separately, an EVA spokesman in California said the carrier is preparing for
an initial public offering of stock in Taiwan to raise money for further expansion of its
international route network.
