Evergreen Shipping Agency (America) Corp., North America agents for global ocean carrier Evergreen Line, has named Roy Amalfitano as president, the company said Monday.
Amalfitano, who has been with Evergreen since 1984, most recently was executive vice president of the company, headquartered in Los Angeles. In his new position, he will work out of the U.S. headquarters office in the New York metropolitan area in Jersey City.
Amalfitano has served as import sales manager, senior vice president, and deputy senior vice president in roles in Los Angeles, Minneapolis and Chicago. Since 2008, he has been a member of the steering committee for Pacific Maritime Association, the organization that negotiates and administers labor contracts with the International Longshore and Warehouse Union on behalf of U.S. West Coast terminal operators.
