Evergreen Group to drop Hatsu, ITS brands
Taiwan's Evergreen Group will next May drop its two European-based brands, Italia Marittima SpA (ITS) and Hatsu Marine Ltd., adopting instead the single brand of Evergreen Line.
London-based Hatsu was established in January 2002 while Trieste-based ITS — which changed its name from Lloyd Triestino in March — has been part of the Evergreen Group since 1998, when the Italian government decided to privatize many state-owned companies.
The Evergreen Group operates a fleet of 162 container ships with a combined capacity of 539,314 TEUs, making it the world’s fourth-largest ocean carrier, according to AXSLiner.
