EVERGREEN LAUNCHES 5,364-TEU SHIP
Evergreen Line has launched the Ever Utile, a newly-built
5,364-TEU containership.
The vessel is the 13th in a series of 19 "U-type" containerships
ordered by Evergreen.
The vessel will join the carrier’s Hong Kong/Taiwan/U.S. West Coast
"HTW" service in March, 2000.
Evergreen is currently finalizing the order of five 6,000-TEU vessels that
would follow the delivery of the last six 5,364-TEU vessels in the series.
By mid 2001, when all 19 ships of 5,364-TEU will have been delivered, the
Evergreen group expects that its fleet will consist of 138 vessels with a total slot
capacity of 360,000 TEUs
