EVERGREEN SHIP COLLIDES WITH LINER OFF U.K.
A containership operated by Taiwanese operator
Evergreen, the Ever Decent, has collided with a cruise liner off England’s southeast
coast.
The 4,211-TEU container vessel of Evergreen caught fire.
Reuters reported that three passengers on board the Norwegian Dream
cruise ship were injured.
The 55,604-deadweight-ton Ever Decent, built in 1997, was sailing from
Thamesport to Zeebrugge on Evergreen’s weekly round-the-world westbound service.
The container vessel is insured by the Gard, Norwegian protection and
indemnity club. The ship did not carry hazardous cargoes, a spokesman for Evergreen said.
