EWL dropping ports to keep weekly frequency
Dutch shipping line Europe West Indies Lines is making some temporary changes to its Europe/Canada/Latin America Mainliner service to maintain a weekly sailing pattern while it searches for a replacement vessel.
The Rotterdam-based carrier said the 1,296-TEU EWL Caribbean is going off charter in Santa Marta on Oct. 27 and that a replacement would not be available until the end November or early December.
As a result, EWL will suspend direct calls at Le Havre in France and Bridgetown and Rio Haina in the Caribbean, both of which will be served via feeder over Port of Spain. Meanwhile, Caucedo in the Dominican Republic will replace Rio Haina.
