Ex-GE executive starts project logistics firm

Former senior global logistics leader at GE Electric Power and Water, Vikash Patel, has formed a third-party logistics firm specializing in the transportation management of project cargoes, such as wind turbine components.
Patel, who is credited with overseeing the largest transportation move in North American history to date, which included more than 20,000 “super-load” category shipments via road, rail and barge, also worked stints at Ryder and Norfolk Southern.
Joining him at Greenville, S.C.-based Logisticus are three former GE employees with experience in logistics, safety, government relations and quality control, the company said in a statement.
