EX-MEXICO PRESIDENT ZEDILLO NAMED TO UNION PACIFIC BOARD
Ernesto Zedillo Ponce de Leon, president of Mexico from 1994 to 2000, was elected to Union Pacific Corp.'s board of directors Thursday.
Zedillo enacted sweeping economic reforms in the early 1990s.
“His vast knowledge of economic and trade issues will help to guide our growth strategy across our entire rail network in the years ahead,” said Dick Davidson, chairman and chief executive officer of Union Pacific Corp.
UP said it provides the largest rail transportation link with Mexico, operating at six border gateways. The railroad's Mexico revenues increased 19 percent last year to a record $850 million.
