Executive Moves: Alaska Airlines and Siemens Postal, Parcel & Airport Logistics

Alaska Airlines names new chief information officer, vice president finance and controller, and promotes two to managing director; while Siemens Postal, Parcel & Airport Logistics appoints chief digitalization officer.

Alaska Airlines names new chief information officer, vice president of finance and controller, and promotes two to managing director; while Siemens Postal, Parcel & Airport Logistics appoints chief digitalization officer.

   Alaska Airlines has named Charu Jain vice president and chief information officer and Chris Berry vice president of finance and controller. Jain comes to the airline from IBM Global Business Services, where she led a team helping American Airlines integrate its IT systems, while Berry joined Alaska Airlines in 2005 as director of financial reporting.
   In addition, the company promoted Jennifer Thompson to the role of managing director commercial law, associate general counsel and assistant corporate secretary at Alaska Airlines; and Sana Gebarin to managing director of strategy and project management at Horizon Air.

   Siemens Postal, Parcel & Airport Logistics (SPPAL) has appointed Frauke Heistermann chief digitalization officer, effective March 1, 2017. Heistermann co-founded the former AXIT AG, which has become a subsidiary of SPPAL and was subsequently renamed AXIT GmbH.
