Executive Moves: Ascent, Roadrunner, MarineTraffic

A senior vice president of operations, chief information officer and head of sales are hired.

   Ascent Global Logistics has appointed Annette Luyten as senior vice president of operations for its agent network within the company’s domestic freight management group.
   The new senior leadership position will be focused on growth of the agent network, which focuses on providing state-of-the-art technology and back-office support to independent brokerage agents.
   Ascent said Luyten has extensive experience in the logistics industry spanning operational, management, sales and agent development roles.

   Roadrunner Transportation Systems Inc. has hired Michael Rapken as its chief information office.
   He most recently served as chief technology officer at Press Ganey, an integrated solutions provider to the healthcare industry. Rapken also led application development at Sprint before joining YRC Worldwide as its chief information officer.

   MarineTraffic has named Vlassis Papapanagis head of sales.
   A computer scientist by training, Papapanagis, who will be based in Athens, Greece, has 20 years of experience in big data software and consulting sales roles in the U.K., United States and Greece with such organizations as SPSS, IBM, PREDICTA Greece and Dun & Bradstreet.  
   MarineTraffic, which also has offices in the U.K. and Singpore, has grown from its 2007 start as a vessel-tracking website to a shipping intelligence provider.
