Yuri Freedman is elected to board, Kalliope Economou is hired and Ginger Adamiak and Yesica Gloria Marrufo have new roles.

Yuri Freedman, senior director of business development for Southern California Gas Co., was unanimously elected to the board of directors of CALSTART.

“Ensuring we have a diverse, efficient, plentiful and user-friendly fueling infrastructure in place to power the vehicles of tomorrow is critical to our ability to transform our transportation sector,” said CALSTART President and CEO John Boesel. “Yuri’s energy infrastructure expertise will accelerate our global efforts to realize CALSTART’s mission of changing transportation for the good.”
Freedman said, “Utilities are playing a critical role in the adoption of a variety of low- and zero-emission vehicles. I look forward to identifying and supporting the implementation of strategies to accelerate clean transportation technology solutions that support economic growth and climate leadership.”
CALSTART is a national nonprofit consortium with offices in New York, Michigan, Colorado and California dedicated to building a prosperous, efficient and clean high-tech transportation agency.

Tromsø, Norway-based maritime digital software service provider Dualog has appointed Kalliope Economou as sales manager to work within its growing Greek market.
“Over the past few years we have found an accelerating demand for digital solutions among the Greek shipping owners who are embracing the opportunities provided by new technologies,” said Dualog CEO Morten Lind-Olsen. “The increase in available bandwidth has improved the feasibility of adopting an ever-increasing range of smart technology solutions and our customer base here has now reached the point where we want to provide a local support system.”
Economou, who has more than 25 years of shipping experience, said she was “eager to demonstrate the many opportunities afforded by improved ship-to-shore communications and work to encourage ship owners to adopt them.”

Previously serving as Kansas City Southern’s vice president of energy, industrial development and innovation, Ginger Adamiak (pictured above left), based in Kansas City, Mo., has been appointed vice president of energy and chemical products, adding chemical and petroleum in the United States and Mexico to her responsibilities.
