Executive Moves: Celadon and the Port of Oakland

Celadon Group, Inc. names chief executive officer and chairman, and the Port of Oakland’s board of commissioners elects board president.

Celadon Group, Inc. names chief executive officer and chairman, and the Port of Oakland’s board of commissioners elects board president.

   Celadon Group, Inc. has named Paul Svindland chief executive officer, effective on or around July 24, succeeding Paul Will, who will retire as CEO and chairman of the board, but will serve as a consultant to the company through July 2018.
   Svindland, who will also serve as a member of Celadon’s board, is joining the company from Farren International Holdings, Inc., where he is currently chairman and CEO.
   Celadon has also appointed Michael Miller to replace Will as chairman. Miller is the lead independent director of the board and chairman of the compensation committee. He has been a director of the company since February 1992, and in addition to chairing the compensation committee, he has served as a member of the audit committee and the nominating and corporate governance committee.

   The Port of Oakland’s board of commissioners has elected Joan Story to serve as board president for the next year. Story, who was nominated for the port board in July 2015, succeeds Michael Colbruno as board president. Colbruno will remain on the board as a commissioner.
   Commissioners also elected Cestra “Ces” Butner as first vice president of the board and Andreas Cluver as second vice president of the board.
