Executive Moves: COSCO SHIPPING International, Hamburg Süd, JAXPORT, Logistyx Technologies and Flexport

COSCO SHIPPING International announces several appointments; Hamburg Süd names global head of corporate communications; JAXPORT hires director, national container accounts; Logistyx Technologies names CEO; and Flexport appoints VP of people operations.

COSCO SHIPPING International announces several appointments; Hamburg Süd names global head of corporate communications; JAXPORT hires director, national container accounts; Logistyx Technologies names CEO; and Flexport appoints VP of people operations.

   COSCO SHIPPING International (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., the investment arm of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., has appointed Wang Yuhang to serve as executive director and chairman of the board of the company.
   COSCO SHIPPING International has also appointed Zhu Jianhui to serve as managing director of the company.
   Feng Boming, Chen Dong and Ren Yongqiang have been appointed to serve as non-executive directors of the company.

   German ocean carrier Hamburg Süd appointed Rainer Horn to serve as its new global head of corporate communications, effective Feb. 1. Horn, who is succeeding Eva Graumann, has a decade of communications experience in liner shipping, and prior to that, he covered the industry as a business reporter for the Hamburger Abendblatt daily newspaper.

   The Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) has hired David Kalata to serve as director, national container accounts. Kalata most recently served as international sales manager for Florida East Coast Railway. Kalata also previously held sales and operational positions with international shippers, third-party logistics providers and brokers. In addition, he has served as a strategic advisor to the industry, designing tactical market plans and improving supply chain programs.

   Software company Logistyx Technologies has named Geoffrey Finlay chief executive officer. Finlay, a 35-year veteran of the software and computer technology industries, previously served as CEO at public companies based in the United Kingdom and United States, and has held chairmanships and non-executive director roles in public and venture-backed businesses.

   Silicon Valley-based freight forwarder and customs broker Flexport appointed Gayle Allen to serve as vice president of people operations. Allen is the founder of The Innovator’s Circle, an organization that partners with company leaders to improve organizational performance. Prior to that, she served as chief learning officer at educational technology start-up BrightBytes, and as an adjust professor at Columbia University and New York University.
