Executive Moves: From BNSF to Yang Ming

BNSF Logistics, Union Pacific, Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, Yang Ming and CLX announce corporate moves.

   Multimodal third-party logistics service provider BNSF Logistics LLC announced Tuesday that Nancee Ronning has been named chief commercial officer, effective immediately.
   Ronning brings more than 20 years of experience in sales, marketing and account and relationship management to the newly created position. Most recently, she served as president of Print Craft, a commercial printing and packaging company based in Minnesota. She also spent more than eight years in strategic sales, marketing and account management leadership roles at C.H. Robinson and prior to that held various positions with Merrill Corp. and GE Capital.

   Union Pacific has named Clark Ponthier senior vice president of supply chain and continuous improvement, effective May 29.
   Ponthier will be responsible for purchasing, strategic sourcing, industrial engineering activities and continuous improvement. He brings 30 years of experience in broad supply chain, manufacturing and engineering at Fortune 500 companies.
   He most recently served as Ingersoll Rand’s vice president of operations and integrated supply chain for residential HVAC and supply. He oversaw supply chain operations in more than 100 manufacturing sites, distribution centers and finished goods warehouses. 
   Ponthier also held positions at Dell, General Electric and Dow Chemical. He has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

   Carmen Loberg has been reappointed to the board of directors of the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority for a three-year term as the Prairie province appointee. 
   The Canadian provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba collectively appoint one director to the board. This is Loberg’s third term on the board; he was nominated by Alberta in 2013, Saskatchewan in 2015 and Manitoba in 2018. Loberg is chair of the human resources and compensation committees and is a member of the audit committee.
   The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority’s board of directors is composed of 11 members: one federal appointee; one British Columbia provincial appointee; one appointee for the Prairie provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba; one appointee representing the 16 municipalities bordering the port; and seven federal appointees recommended by port users.

    Joseph Tsao have been appointed president of Yang Ming (America) Corp. (YMA), effective May 1. He replaces Wenjin Lee, who is moving on to take a new role in management support as senior executive vice president in YMA. Tsao was the chief commercial officer and executive vice president at the Taiwan carrier’s headquarters for the past six years. At the same time, Cliff Pai has been named chief commercial officer of Yang Ming. Previously Pai had been chairman of Yes Logistics, a Yang Ming subsidiary.

   David Vieira has been appointed chief executive officer at CLX Logistics in Philadelphia. Vieira has been with CLX since 2015 and had been president and chief operating officer.
   Stephen Hamilton, who had been CEO of the company 21 years, will remain with CLX as chairman. During Hamilton’s 21-year tenure as CEO, he led CLX through a number of enhancements to its suite of logistics management, technology and supply chain consulting services, including building its chemical logistics division, ChemLogix.
