International Association of Ports and Harbors elects Americas region VP, while GAC appoints executive group vice president of Oil and Gas.
The International Association of Ports and Harbors has elected Port of Longview Chief Executive Officer Geir-Eilif Kalhagen as vice president of the Americas region.
Kalhagen will be officially inducted in June at the 29th IAPH World Ports Conference in Hamburg, Germany, along with newly-elected vice presidents from the Asia/Oceania and Africa/Europe regions.
IAPH is a Tokyo-based, global alliance that represents over 180 ports and 140 port-related businesses in 90 countries.
Logistics and marine services provider GAC appointed William Hill as executive group vice president for its Oil and Gas business unit, effective May 1, 2015.
Hill joined the GAC Group in 1984, holding various marketing and business development roles in Kuwait and Dubai before serving as Regional Manager for Asia Pacific from 1995 to 2001. Most recently, he was group vice president for Logistics Services before becoming executive group vice president of the company’s Commercial unit in 2009.
Hill’s former duties as group vice president, Commercial will be taken over by Solutions Group Vice President Christer Sjödoff. Sjödoff joined the GAC Group in 1993 and has more than 25 years of experience in shipping, logistics and marine services.
