Executive Moves: JAXPORT and Port of Nansha

DeMarco hired as chief commercial officer for Florida port; Wagoner tapped to head sales and marketing in western United States and Canada.

   JAXPORT announced Monday that it has hired Kristen DeMarco as the port’s new chief commercial officer.
   DeMarco will be responsible for leading the Jacksonville, Fla., port’s international cargo sales and marketing initiatives as well as tracking trends and issues related to maximizing the port’s business potential.
   She has nearly two decades of business development experience in the logistics industry. Prior to joining JAXPORT, DeMarco served as vice president of ocean business development in North America for CEVA Logistics. She also has served in business development roles for shipping lines owned by A.P. Moller – Maersk.

   The Port of Nansha has opened a U.S. West Coast office and hired Rod Wagoner as the vice president of sales and marketing.
   Wagoner has more than 30 years of expertise in global logistics. He has held several management and executive positions working with a major global ocean carrier in Seattle, Portland and most recently in Los Angeles.   
   He will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales plans to retain, expand and secure international container business opportunities targeting importers, exporters, ocean carriers and other logistics service providers for the western United States and Canada. He will report to President and CEO John Painter in New Jersey.
