Executive Moves: JLL, Port of Oakland and Vancouver Fraser Port Authority

JLL hires former Walmart executive as VP of retail/e-commerce distribution, while the Port of Oakland elects board president and the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority’s CFO to retire.

Industrial real estate services and investment management firm JLL has hired Matt Powers as executive vice president of retail/e-commerce distribution. Powers was previously the director of realty acquisitions for Walmart, in which he developed, maintained and carried out the strategic plan for Walmart and Sam’s Corporate Properties’ industrial real estate.

Michael Colbruno, a managing partner with the Milo Group of California, has been elected president of the Port of Oakland’s board. The former two-term member and past chairman of the Oakland Planning Commission succeeds Commissioner Earl Hamlin who concluded his one-year tenure as president but remains on the board. The board also elected Ces Butner first vice president and Joan Story second vice president.

Allan Baydala, chief financial officer, will retire from the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority at the end of the year. Baydala has been CFO at the port since 2008. Before that, he acted as the president and chief executive officer of the North Fraser Port Authority.
