“K” Line names managing executive director; Virgin Atlantic Cargo appoints managing director; Crane Worldwide Logistics selects vice president, global specialized solutions; and Hill Dickinson hires legal director for its growing shipping practice.
Japanese ocean carrier Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” Line) has promoted Daisuke Arai, an executive officer, to managing executive officer effective Oct. 1. Managing executive officer Nobuo Ishida will retire Sept. 30.
Virgin Atlantic Cargo, a British airfreight carrier, has promoted Dominic Kennedy as managing director effective Aug. 15, when John Lloyd, who has held the post since 2001, will step down after 30 years with the airline. Kennedy joined Virgin Atlantic in 2005 and is currently director, commercial planning.
Houston-based third-party logistics provider Crane Worldwide Logistics has promoted Chris Mitchell, formerly director of global specialized solutions in Asia Pacific, to vice president, global specialized solutions. Mitchell joined Crane Worldwide in September 2011 and will be based in Singapore with his new role.
Hill Dickinson, an international commercial law firm based in Liverpool, has appointed Tom Burdass as legal director to its growing shipping practice. Burdass joins the firm’s Broadgate Tower, London office from Campbell Johnston Clark (CJC), where he spent over six years acting for clients in dry shipping litigation matters. He has also acted in a variety of wet shipping matters.
