Executive Moves: Philadelphia Regional Port Authority, Mersey Maritime and Sparrows Point Terminal

Philadelphia Regional Port Authority executive director and Mersey Maritime CEO announce retirements, while Sparrows Point Terminal names VP of finance.

   James T. McDermott Jr. said he will retire as executive director of the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority, effective April 15, 2016. He joined the port authority as chief counsel in 1991 and was appointed executive director in May 1994.

   Jim Teasdale, chief executive officer of Mersey Maritime, will retire, effective Sept. 30. He was a founding director of the not-for-profit organization set up in 2003 to represent the ports and maritime sector of Merseyside. He will continue to serve as a board director of both Mersey Maritime and the Maritime and Engineering College North West.

   Sparrows Point Terminal has named Kerry Doyle vice president of finance. He joins SPT from Redwood Capital Investments and before that he worked at Barclays Capital.
