Executive Moves: Port Freeport, Jaxport, ACI World and DRPT

Port Freeport names CFO; Jaxport’s board of directors elects new officers; ACI selects chairman and vice-chairman of the ACI World governing board; and the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation appoints chief of rail transportation.

Port Freeport names CFO; Jaxport’s board of directors elects new officers; ACI selects chairman and vice-chairman of the ACI World governing board; and the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation appoints chief of rail transportation.

   Port Freeport, located in Texas about 60 miles south of Houston, has named John Mannion chief financial officer. Mannion has over 25 years of executive-level experience in high-growth, global organizations in midstream, energy services, banking, manufacturing, and transportation industries with various companies, such as Bristow Group, Plains All American Pipeline LP, Continental Airlines, Quanex Corp. and Credit Suisse.

   Jaxport’s board of directors elected new officers Monday, naming Ed Fleming as chairman, John Falconetti as vice chairman, John Baker as treasurer and Jamie Shelton as secretary. They will each serve a term that ends Sept. 30, 2018. Fleming is retired CEO and president of Atlantic Marine Holding Co., LLC; Falconetti is president of Drummond Press; Baker is executive chairman of FRP Holdings, Inc.; and Shelton is president of bestbet Jacksonville.

   Airports Council International (ACI), a trade association representing the world’s airports, has selected Bongani Maseko to serve as chairman of the ACI World governing board, effective Jan. 1. Maseko is chief executive officer and executive director of Airports Company South Africa Ltd. He joined Airports Company South Africa in 1999 and was formally appointed as CEO in May 2013. Before that, he spent three-and-a-half years as general manager at O.R. Tambo International Airport.
   Martin Eurnekian, CEO of Corporación América, was also appointed as vice-chair of ACI World, effective Jan. 1. Eurnekian has over 15 years of experience in aviation, and has managed various concession processes, as well as directed passenger and cargo terminal design and construction projects. He has also managed multiple airlines, including LAPA and Southernwinds in Argentina, and Volare in Italy.

   The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) has appointed Michael McLaughlin to serve as the chief of rail transportation. McLaughlin has 20 years of service with the Chicago Transit Authority and the United States Congress.
