Executive Moves: Saddle Creek, PRPA, S.C. Department of Commerce and ATA

Saddle Creek names chief operating officer, Prince Rupert Port Authority appoints board member, the S.C. Department of Commerce names senior program director, and the American Trucking Associations’ executive director of the Intermodal Conference retires.

Saddle Creek names chief operating officer, PRPA appoints board member, the S.C. Department of Commerce names senior program director, and the ATA’s executive director of the Intermodal Conference retires.

   Saddle Creek Logistics Services has appointed Mark Cabrera, who currently serves as senior vice president and chief financial officer, as chief operating officer, effective July 1. He will assume the role of chief executive officer within two years, succeeding current CEO Cliff Otto upon his retirement. Before joining Saddle Creek in 2001, Cabrera spent 15 years in financial roles in a variety of industries for companies including Arthur Andersen LLP, GTE Financial, National Insurance Services and Reeves Steel, Inc.

   The Prince Rupert Port Authority nominated Frans Tjallingii as member of its board of directors. Tjallingii is the co-founder of Global Data Chain and past president of Saam Smit Towage.

   The S.C. Department of Commerce named Cynthia Jones as a senior program director for the agency’s Existing Industry program. Jones previously served South Carolina’s Upper Savannah region as one of S.C. Commerce’s regional workforce advisors.

   The American Trucking Associations’ executive director of the Intermodal Conference, Curtis Whalen, will be retiring today. Whalen has 44 plus years of experience in advocacy and lobbying.
