South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd appointed Joonou Nam to serve as its new chief executive officer, succeeding Park Dae-young.
The Association of American Railroads (AAR) has selected Kristin Smith, who was recently promoted to vice president of communications, to serve as senior vice president of communications, succeeding Patricia Reilly, who will be leaving at the end of the year.
Reilly will be launching a strategic communications consultancy, dubbed Cabin8Communications, in 2018.
Smith has been with the AAR since 2010, directing the multi-year “Freight Rail Works” campaigns, spearheading research initiatives and overseeing the association’s various advocacy campaigns. Before joining the AAR, she was with Ogilvy Washington and managed the AAR account.
The Baltic Exchange Advisory Council has appointed Duncan Dunn to serve as chairman, effective Jan. 2, 2018. He is replacing Lambros Varnavides, who has held the position since November 2017.
Dunn, who has served as Baltic Exchange Vice Chairman since 2017, is currently a senior director at SSY Futures. Since 1986, he has worked in the derivatives industry in both broking and fund management roles with companies including Rudolf Wolff Fund Management Ltd, Union CAL Ltd and Man Financial Ltd.
Dublin, Calif.-based iTradeNetwork, Inc., a global provider of supply chain management solutions for the food and beverage industry, has named Steve Gantenbein senior vice president of sales. Gantenbein brings 15 years of sales and account leadership experience to his new role. Before joining iTradeNetwork, he served as senior vice president of global sales at Optymyze. He has also held sales and account management positions at Recommind, Dell and CallidusCloud.
