Executive Moves: SCI and Port of New Orleans

SCI names new CEO, while the Louisiana governor appoints commissioner to the Port of New Orleans board.

   SCI, a supply chain services subsidiary of the Canada Post Group, has promoted Chris Galindo to president and chief executive officer. Galindo succeeds John Ferguson, who has been named president and CEO of Canada Post’s Purolator. Galindo joined SCI in 2007 from The AMG Group of Cos., which was acquired by SCI Group Inc. At AMG, he was the vice president and general manager.

   Tara C. Hernandez has been appointed by the Louisiana governor to the Port of New Orleans’ board of commissioners. She will serve a five-year term, succeeding Gregory R. Rusovich, one of four Orleans Parish representatives on the seven-member regional board. Hernandez is president of New Orleans-based JCH Development, a small urban real estate development firm.
