Executive Moves: Union Pacific, Cargotec and TIACA

Union Pacific names president of ShipCarsNow subsidiary, while Cargotec appoints CFO and TIACA elects Emirates VP to board.

   Union Pacific has named Peter Decher president of its subsidiary ShipCarsNow. Decher succeeds Martin Coalson, who retired after a 37 years with the railroad. Decher most recently served as UP’s director of market and resource planning for automotive, where he led commercial strategies and Insight Network Logistics, another UP subsidiary. Decher served as director of operations for ShipCarsNow from 2009 to 2012, after beginning his UP career in 2005.

   Mikko Puolakka has been appointed Cargotec’s chief financial officer, effective May 1. He previously held CFO positions at Outotec Oyj and Elcoteq, as well as several financial management roles in Elcoteq and the Huhtamaki Group. Cargotec’s current CFO, Eeva Sipilä, will become CFO at Metso Corp. in August.

   Nabil Sultan, Emirates’ divisional senior vice president of cargo, has been appointed to The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) board. Sultan began his career with Emirates in 1990 in the IT department and from there moved into various senior leadership roles at the airline. He was promoted to his current position in 2013.
