Executive Moves: UPS, AmeriQuest, AAPA, CEVA and Swissport

UPS, AmeriQuest, AAPA, CEVA and Swissport make executive and director-level appointments.

   UPS has named Richard Peretz chief financial officer, effective July 1. He replaces Kurt Kuehn, who will retire after 38 years with the company. Peretz is currently the company’s corporate controller and treasurer. He joined UPS in 1981. 

   AmeriQuest Transportation Services has appointed Josh Urban as director of sales for the Midwest region. Prior to joining AmeriQuest, he was a business development manager for Ryder System. The company also appointed Martin Hayward to director of sales for the Great Lakes Region. He was most recently vice president of sales for A.L. Solutions.

   The American Association of Port Authorities has elected Jim Quinn, president and chief executive officer of Port Saint John in Canada, to serve as chairman for the 2015-2016. He is slated to officially take over the one-year term at the AAPA’s Nov. 2-4 convention in Miami. Quinn succeeds Chairman Kristin Decas, CEO and port director at Port of Hueneme in California.

   CEVA Logistics has appointed Friso Bakker to senior vice president of global technology operations, and Michel Vachey to senior vice president for global consumer and retail operations. Both are part of the company’s contract logistics unit. Bakker has previously held senior management positions at Kuehne + Nagel and GE Capital Logistics, while Vachey joins CEVA from retailer Carrefour.

   Swissport International has named Katherine Boesen senior vice president  for global commercial and key account management of ground handling, effective May 1. Prior to joining Swissport, she was chief commercial officer for the Eastern European and Asia Pacific region at Damco.
