UPS appoints new chief operating officer and international president, while BDP International names managing director for Middle East, Turkey and Africa.
UPS has appointed Jim Barber to chief operating officer. He most recently served as president of UPS International since 2013, with responsibility for distribution, forwarding, small package delivery, brokerage, and customs compliance. He first joined UPS as a driver in 1985 and quickly climbed the ranks, eventually becoming president of UPS Europe.
The company also named Nando Cesarone president of UPS International. He joined the company 27 years ago and was appointed president of UPS’s European operations in 2015, and before that, was president of UPS Asia-Pacific.
BDP International has appointed Fikret Ersoy as managing director for the freight forwarder’s operations in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa. Previously, he served as BDP’s regional director for Turkey and North Africa. He opened BDP offices in Egypt and Morocco in 2016, and then Kenya in January 2018.
