Exel Direct has been renamed MXD Group by owner Platinum Equity, who purchased the final-mile delivery firm from a DHL subsidiary in May.
“The transition to new ownership has been good for our business and is opening up many exciting opportunities,” the firm’s president and chief executive officer, David Vieira, said in a statement. “We are continuing to focus on serving our core customers while expanding our reach and pursuing new end markets. Launching our new MXD Group brand is an exciting step in the evolution of our business.”
According to a press release, MXD makes 2.3 million deliveries each year. – Jon Ross
