FCS adds secondary notify capability to Import2000
Flagship Customs Services has expanded its Import2000 customs compliance service to include a secondary notify party component.
While the company has had a secondary notify party interface with U.S. Customs and Border Protection for several years on an in-house basis, it is now part of its Import2000 service.
FCS, based in Silver Spring, Md., has become the largest provider of Internet-based applications for shippers, freight forwarders and non-vessel-operating common carriers that must comply with Customs' Automated Manifest System and Automated Export System filing requirements.
The secondary notify party function, called SNP2000, allows companies operating bonded warehouses to participate in Customs' import process. “One of the largest U.S. importers recently mandated that all of its logistics providers use SNP2000 to ensure accurate and consistent tracking and tracing of their U.S. inbound cargo through the U.S. Customs process,” said Robert Foley, president of FCS, in a statement.
FCS said SNP2000 allows companies to become fully certified AMS SNP users without any upfront or ongoing investment. “All they need is an Internet connection and a browser,” FCS said.
Access through the Internet also allows FCS-user companies operating multiple facilities and locations to share a common service to access and share the same information instantly.
