FKI Logistex wins contract with Internet retailers
FKI Logistex said Thursday it has won a $3.5 million contract to provide an automated material handling system for Internet electronics retailer ZipZoomfly.com's new 250,000-square-foot warehouse in Newark.
St. Louis-based FKI Logistex said its system is designed to pick, pack and ship orders for ZipZoomfly.com and its sister company, households retailer Wrapables.com.
The system features three UniSort IV sorters, more than 5,900 feet of conveyor and FKI Logistex's EASYpick Trak3 pick-to-light system that supports up to 8,000 SKU locations. Software includes Order Manager and Route Manager, which provide control of both retailers' inventory and material flow.
'The FKI Logistex system is crucial to our future plans for growth and expanded service offerings,' said Tim Wang, director of business development of ZipZoomfly.com, which was founded in 1999.
