FLORIDA EXPRESS CARRIERS ENDS REGIONAL LONG-HAULING
Florida Express Carriers said Tuesday it would discontinue regional long-haul trucking.
Florida East Coast Industries, FLX’s parent company, will transfer FLX’s previous intermodal transport and drayage servicing responsibilities to the Florida East Coast Railway.
“The move is expected to result in lower overall operating expenses for FECI’s transportation business, while enabling FECR to compete in the higher-margin Southeast intermodal market,” said Robert W. Anestis, chief executive officer of Florida East Coast Industries.
