Florida trucking companies merge

H & M International Transportation and J. Cioffi Cargo Management have agreed to merge their trucking operations.

H & M International Transportation and J. Cioffi Cargo Management, both based in Medley, Fla., have agreed to merge their trucking operations.
Charles Connors, H&M’s president and chief operating officer, will continue to head H & M Terminals Transport Corp.
A steering committee has been formed to oversee the integration for both employees and customers, the companies said.
“Transforming these two divisions into one is certain to be of tremendous advantage in supporting our customers as we tackle the many challenges in today’s trucking environment,” Connors said in a statement.
Linda Gillis, H&M International’s vice president of business development and customer relations, added, “Increased capacity will enhance our flexibility and responsiveness so that we can provide quality customer service.”
