FMC COLLECTS $328,000 FOR ALLEGED SHIPPING ACT VIOLATIONS

   'Eight freight consolidators and one liner shipping company have agreed to pay the Federal Maritime Commission a total of $328,000 to settle allegations that they have violated the 1984 Shipping Act.

   The companies and the amount of fines paid are:

   * Ace Young Co., a Des Plains, Ill.-based non-vessel-operating common carrier, $23,000.

   * Asiana Express Corp., a Torrance, Calif.-based NVO and freight forwarder, $50,000.

   * B&A Express, a Gardena, Calif.-based NVO, $20,000.

   * DSR-Senator Lines, of Bremen, Germany, $120,000.

   * Frontier Logistics Services, a Compton, Calif.-based NVO and freight forwarder, $15,000.

   * Ocean Coast Forwarders, Sonoma, Calif, $50,000.

   * Ocean Bridge International, a City of Industry, Calif.-based NVOCC, $25,000.

   * Suntrans International, an ocean transportation intermediary in Mt. Prospect, Ill., $25,000.
