FMC reviews 24 OTI license applications

The U.S. Federal Maritime Commission has received 24 ocean transportation intermediary license applications and changes for review.

   The U.S. Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) has received 24 ocean transportation intermediary (OTI) license applications and changes for review.
   The FMC received non-vessel-operating common carrier license applications from Sebert Shipping, Houston (Barbara A. Semons, executive director); and UTI Group, Hacienda Heights, Calif. (Hai “Happy” Pei Liu, president).
   The agency received NVO/ocean freight forwarder license applications from Logistics International, Basking Ridge, N.J. (Nitin Bhagat, president); Lucian Shipping, Brooklyn, N.Y. (Elijah Theodore, chief executive officer); OceanAir Network Corp., Miami (Lorenzo J. Lopez, president); Opes Shipping Corp., Pomona, Calif. (Lieh Wei Chang, chief executive officer); Paramount Logistics, Pasadena, Calif. (Wei Ming Chen, secretary); Sakaem Logistics, Mountainside, N.J. (Peter A. Bottino, president); Silver Birch, Aston, Pa. (Howard N. Bolte, manager); and World Net Logistics Solutions, Gardena, Calif. (Hyeon Sang “Steve” Shin, chief executive officer).
   The FMC also received ocean freight forwarder license applications from Near North Customs Brokers, Ontario, Canada (Amy Hartwell, freight forwarding manager); Outer Seaways, Philadelphia (Jack Bashkow, vice president of operations); Project Logistics International, Rosemont, Ill. (Michael Horn, vice president of ocean); and SDS Trans, Jamaica, N.Y. (Si Yual An, president).
   In addition, the agency received license applications for changes to qualifying individuals from Far East Freight Networks, Gardena, Calif. (Hang Yoon Cho, chief executive officer); Itochu Logistics (USA) Corp., Torrance, Calif. (Yuto Haraguchi, vice president); Jet Shipping Co., Hialeah, Fla. (Celia I. Espinosa, president); New Transport USA, Miami (Jorge Samame, manager); T.M.T. Cargo Express, South Amboy, N.J. (Michael A. Daya, president); Transpacific Freight Express, City of Industry, Calif. (Misty Chen, chief operating officer); and Yamato Transport USA, Secaucus, N.J. (Susan Dolcemascolo, senior vice president); for a name change to Royal Cargo from Ucans Global, Torrance, Calif. (Eleanor Paner-Estiva, secretary); for the addition of trade name Icargo Express from Icargo Global Logistics, Hungtington Station, N.Y. (Edwin J. Arriaga, president); and for the removal of trade name Global Logistics by NK America from NK America, Sidney, Ohio (Bruce Hetzler, vice president).
   Persons knowing of any reason why an applicant should not receive an OTI license or amendment are urged to contact the FMC’s Office of Transportation Intermediaries in Washington, D.C. Lists of licensed OTIs (applications approved, bonds in place and fully licensed) – both ocean freight forwarders and NVOs – are also available on the FMC website.
