Forbes editors and industry experts selected the 200 “most promising B2Bs” in 25 different industries. In logistics and transportation, it limited its selection to companies that don’t own fleets of trucks and planes.

Forbes classified the B2B companies in three categories: marketplaces such as exchanges, auctions and on-line communities; “enablers,” or firms that provide the technology and expertise for creating B2B marketplaces and applications; and “application service providers,” meaning companies that run and host software for other companies that access it over the Web.
