The load tracking software provider’s third party load status tools will be available within McLeod Software’s broker enterprise transportation management system.
Load tracking software provider FourKites last week said it has started integrating directly into the systems of transportation management system provider McLeod Software.
The integration makes FourKites’ tracking technology available to users of McLeod Software’s end-to-end brokerage management software, PowerBroker, and is intended to eliminate the need for check calls to drivers and dispatchers.
FourKites is integrated with more than 40 electronic logging device and GPS providers serving the trucking industry. ELDs will be required in most trucks by the end of 2017. FourKites tracks truck locations every 15 minutes, recalculates estimated arrival times using real-time location data, and automates arrivals and departures using geo-fencing technologies.
“The inclusion of FourKites’ load tracking application as part of PowerBroker’s Brokerage Tracking module helps strengthen the choices our brokerage customers have in their need to implement a tracking solution,” said Robert Brothers, manager of product development at McLeod.
Third party load tracking software is becoming a key market in the world of over-the-road freight visibility, as it gives brokers the capability to provide their shipper customers with status updates on in-transit loads handled by their contracted carriers.
