FreightHub lands $20m in Series A funding

The Berlin, Germany-based digital freight forwarder secured $20 million in a Series A funding round just 18 months after its initial market launch.

Digital freight forwarder FreightHub secured $20 million in a Series A funding round led by venture capital firm Northzone, with participation from current investors Global Founders Capital, Cherry Ventures, Cavalry Ventures, and La Famiglia, FreightHub revealed this week.
“With this funding, we will continue to deliver on our growth plans, and open new hubs in Asia and the USA,” FreightHub CEO Ferry Heilemann said.
FreightHub, which launched 18 months ago, provides booking and tracking services through its platform for global container (full-container-load) and pallet (less-than-container-load) transport via sea, air and rail in real-time. The company has dual bases in Berlin and Hamburg with a team of 80.
“We launched FreightHub to help companies save both time and money, through reducing friction and improving transparency,” Heilemann said. “The response has been remarkable, and we have already grown to supporting over 650 customers, including brand names such as Franke, Viessmann, and Home24.”
