FreightScan hires new software engineering chief

Cargo scanning firm FreightScan LLC said Tuesday it has appointed Jae Gan as director of software engineering.

A 12-year software industry veteran, Gan will be responsible for developing cargo management and scanning software for the firm's branded suites of products. He will also serve as a technical liaison for cargo warehouse data integration for customers.

Gan was senior software configuration management engineer with Intuit Inc., where he oversaw development of tools for build automation.

Based in Solana Beach, FreightScan designs, develops and markets cargo-scanning equipment that captures dimensional data providing for instantaneous calculation of cargo weight.

Last month FreightScan appointed Marek Sekowski as director of research and engineering. A 17-year veteran of the technical development field, Sekowski specializes in developing laser scanners and 3D surface data acquisition hardware for the purpose of quality control and shape documentation.
